CONGRATS!

If you are one of the determined members of our community who made it all the way through Sober October without a single drink, then you deserve a pat on the back!!

In our Youtube Halloween livestream and chat (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-BknPryFUw) we found out that 72% of you made it ALL THE WAY THROUGH Sober October, and....AND.... Halloween weekend without a single drink! Furthermore, an additional 7% of you made it thru the whole month only drinking 2 or less days, on your way to finding a better life balance along your sobriety journey.

NO DRINK NOVEMBER

Did you know that the last 3 years, personally, I have missed Sober October?!! That's right. Everyone regardless of who they are and where they come from, are susceptible to life and ALL that it has to offer...good, bad or otherwise.

When I started my sobriety journey in November of 2018, I started it as gifting myself "being present is my present" for Christmas of 2018. Shortly thereafter in mid Jan 2019, I found myself not being sober...again.

Fast forward to the summer of 2019 and I found out that my father was terminally ill, my relationship of 7 years was ending, and I was on the ropes mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and soon to be financially.

We buried my dad in Oct 2019, and with him I wished to bury my addiction to alcohol and...everything else. So I once again started my now annual tradition of No Drink November 2019, with mild success to say the least.

Then..a pandemic hit in early 2020. World governments had this to say:

"Hey stay home!

....and....here's some money to keep yourself entertained.

Oh and btw, most AA meetings are cancelled.

Lastly, liquor stores are now considered 'essential businesses'.

Good Luck,

The Government"

So needless to say, in 2020, I drank my FACE off...Here's how bad I got myself looking by binge drinking for 10 months of 2020...

Fast forward to October 30, 2021, and now you're caught up on my YEAR OF SOBRIETY!!!

JAE WHAT'S YOUR POINT???

The best day to start any journey was yesterday. The next best time to start is TODAY!

It's been nearly 3 years since I started my journey, and it took that long for me to finally take my own life seriously enough to stand up to artificial life stimulation and create the reality I was looking for. It took me nearly 3 years to get this 1 year streak and I'm proud to say "sobriety is mine and I'm not giving it back!"

Speaking of firsts, THIS is our FIRST blog post. There's absolutely no sense in beating ourselves up over time lost, what could've or should've been. Everyday we get more opportunities to make better decisions instead of worse ones. Make it your goal to be 1% better today, than you were yesterday.

Remember, you're not competing with the world, you're just competing with your past self (who was drunk...so it should be easy ha!).

CONGRATS ON ONE YEAR!!! 🎉🎉🤍🎉🎉Love love love the website! Well done! Thanks for all you are doing to help myself and others break the chains of alcohol addiction. I appreciate all that you do so very much. The support from this community is truly amazing. I‘m lucky to have a good support from family/friends but it’s so helpful and wonderful to also have others who actually understand the struggle. Today is 63 days for me and I’m looking forward to the 90 day milestone! It‘s nice to start counting months instead of days. 😊🤍
